Issues appeared to be resolved until another spike occurred around 10 am, with over 40,000 users reporting issues. The latest spike in reported issues began around 11 am, with over 35,000 users reporting issues. The latest outage appeared to resolve around 1:30, but was short-lived as reports of issues once again surged and waned.

According to Newsweek, the hacker group known as “Dark Storm” took credit for the DDoS attack on the popular social media platform. Cyber threat research team Check Point Research (CPR) told the outlet that the pro-Palestinian hacker group has resurfaced after a period of time with no activity. The hacker group largely targets countries like the US, Ukraine, the UAE, and Israel.
Among the successful targets of Dark Storm in the last month was the Los Angeles International Airport, the UAE’s Ministry of Defense, and Israel’s Haifa Port.
