US sanctioned Chechen warlord and Putin ally Ramzan Kadyrov caused an outcry when he released a propaganda video of his new Tesla Cybertruck—that he had outfitted with a machine gun–and claimed it was a gift from Elon Musk. Musk denied he had given the war. lord the truck. Today—Kadyrov said that Tesla had remotely disabled his truck which he had planned to send to the battlefield in Ukraine.

Chechen warlord, Putin ally accuses Elon Musk of disabling his machine-gun-mounted Tesla Cybertruck on front lines

A Chechen warlord who claimed Elon Musk gifted him a Cybertruck accused the Telsa CEO on Thursday of “remotely” disabling the machine-gun-mounted vehicle, which needed to be towed off the Russian battlefield.

Ramzan Kadyrov, 47, the ruthless president of Russia’s Chechnya region, claimed that his Cybertruck stopped working after he revealed it was sent into the Northern Military District for Russian troops to use in the war on Ukraine.

“Elon Musk behaved badly,” Kadyrov wrote on Telegram, according to Politico. “He gives expensive gifts from the bottom of his heart and then remotely disconnects them.”

Hmmmm… If I buy something and own it, shouldn’t I have full and exclusive control over it? Otherwise, if the previous owner else is able to exercise controlling power over the item I purchased, my ownership is no longer exclusive and the bill of sale is worthless. What did I actually buy? A lease? An adhesion contract?

It’s as though I bought a house, but the previous owner or contractor is given the power to cut off my utilities or prevent me from accessing certain rooms or paint over all my windows and there’s nothing I can do to stop them.

How many of “our” modern possessions are really ours?

That a manufacturer can remotely disable a vehicle is the true take away from this story. Don’t own a tesla, don’t care. Fair enough. Purchasing one is a choice. Just wait until you have no choice when it comes to CBDC or any other programable currency

It’s reassuring to know that when we are all driving the electric cars our government has mandated that same government will be able to “brick” our car anytime they feel like it. Things just keep getting better and better.

I doubt that claim. That’s is, I believe Elon. However, if this bricking thing is possible, which I DON’T, you can guarantee I’ll never own one… not without some proof nobody can brick it from the other side of the world much less next door.

I don’t care if it’s Elon or Mother Teresa, the capability of anyone to remotely and arbitrarily disable your possession is an affront to liberty and freedom.
But don’t worry because government would never stoop to such an action.
