During an appearance on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former Democratic campaign operative Evan Barker made a prediction that Harris will be the 2028 Democratic presidential nominee—no matter what. The prediction came during a discussion about Harris’ political ambitions and the state of the Democratic Party leadership.
“I think that there’s a segment of Democrats right now that are still behind Kamala, because I think Democrats have this tendency to go along with whose turn is it next, right? “The way that it’s going to go down is the machine is just going to rally behind her. That’s what they always do,” Barker told Watters. “Even if you have another really good kid on stage, they’re still going to be all of the donors and the Democratic super PACs behind her because they really do have this belief that it should just go to her because it’s because she has a mandate to run.”
Democratic Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett posted on X that the 2024 election proved why Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) matters, saying that Harris was unfairly dismissed due to her race and gender while voters gave a pass to an unqualified opponent who lied about his plans. Barker also took a jab at Crockett.
“I have to say it is so hilarious to me that Jasmine Crockett is saying that DEI is the reason, or sorry, that Jasmine Crockett is saying that the 2024 election is the reason that we need to support DEI when it was literally the reason that the Democratic Party lost the 2024 election,” Barker said.
Barker said that Democrats who align with DEI principles might have contributed to the party’s setbacks in recent elections.
“You know, people may not be saying this publicly, or at least they weren’t back in August or July when the whole drama behind Biden and the debate was going down. But behind the scenes, I had insiders calling me, panicking, freaking out, because they knew that Biden was pushed into supporting her because of DEI, and they felt like it was the wrong move,” Barker added.
