Wankel (rotary) engines are extremely fuel efficient and reliable, they are well balanced and smooth which makes them relatively quiet. They are also relatively cheap to make. So, they are a great choice for an expendable drone engine. (It’s not really an “aircraft” in the typical sense.) Seriously.
