‘Why Would We Not?’: Hollywood Actor Shari Rigby Breaks Down Culture’s ‘Identity Crisis’

It’s undeniable social media is playing a critical role in shaping culture. One recent survey showed one-third of American adults reported feeling depressed, and those who felt lower levels of depression were more likely to report an increase in symptoms if they used social media.

A huge part of the problem, Shari Rigby told CBN News, is the self-centered nature of social media.

“[W]e are really facing an identity crisis; we’re facing a culture crisis,” she said. “Why would we not, though? When God says ‘serve Me first and serve others second’ and here we have a world that is all about serving ourselves, why would it not become a crisis in our culture?”
